Pastimes ...
serves as a transitional program for those leaving a full day vocational program. It also serves those who would gain from life-enrichment and their families who would benefit from daily part-time respite.
This is a community based program that is designed to offer adults and seniors with developmental disabilities the opportunity to access community based activities within their local community.

Pastimes ...

is for any senior with developmental delays who would benefit from the increased physical, mental, and emotional stimulation that come from actively participating within the community. Clients will also work on developing safety skills, peer relations and appropriate interactions. Clients are accompanied on recreational activities by staff members that will assist them on a ratio of 1:3 in community.

Current activities include:

Picnics, Zoos, Interpretive Dance, Volunteering, Exercise, Movies, Museums, Theatre, Concerts, Meal Preparation, Shopping

Art & Crafts

Clients in Pastimes learn to be expressive through drawing, jewelry making, t shirt decorations, ceramics, painting, and various holiday crafts. They have been commissioned to create pieces for Derby Day and custom made holiday gifts for Board members. Many of their products are for sale and purchased during the various open houses throughout the year. We promote client artwork here at GAR.

Pastimes is pleased to offer a Note-a-Month!

Our talented members of Pastimes have exceeded our expectations in developing a series of illustrations for a package of twelve–a note-a-month!
