Glendale Aktion Club was chartered on September 8, 2001. The club has 24 members to date and meets the second Friday of each month. The Glendale club has been involved in numerous community service projects including; collecting food for the holidays and The Salvation Army, delivering flowers to the eldery on Valentines Day to their adopted convalescent home "Windsor Manor" in Glendale, giving cash donations to various groups such as our military troops, The Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc.
The club holds 2 to 3 fundraisers per year. Each month they invite educational speakers on topics from safety, music, art, wildlife, world travels, etc. During this past year, club members had classes in cooking, nutrition, etiquette, and manners. Two officers from the Glendale Police Department also provided a session in personal safety.
Members also go on one educational trip each year. In early June, members visited the Los Angeles Zoo. Our very own employee Gail Marko, who is a docent at the Zoo, served as our tour guide for the day.
