The mission of GAR Services is to provide through residential, vocational and educational programs, the opportunity for adults with developmental disabilities to participate in community life and attain their highest level of independence.
Founded by Phyllis and Jerry Campbell in 1954, GAR has been dedicated to serving persons with developmental disabilities primarily related to mental retardation, but also including cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
Our men and women benefit from vocational training, job placement, living skills instruction, a senior community integration program and residential placement.
Work opportunities-including mailings, assembly, recycling, collating and packaging – are offered at GAR Services headquarters. Some clients have the opportunity to work at business sites in the community. Training in personal, social, and basic academic skills foster integration into the community.
Mission Statement
The mission of GAR Services is to provide adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to achieve their highest level of independence through residential placement; vocational training and job placement; socialization and education.
Services are provided at Alma House, David Gogian House, Hamilton House, Pastimes and GAR Services.
